PTI to hold mass public gathering in Mardan on April 19, aiming to demonstrate political strength and public support amid ongoing national political tensions.
MARDAN: Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi announced that a major political rally will be held on April 19 at the Mardan Railway Ground, following directives attributed to PTI founder Imran Khan, signaling a renewed push for large-scale political mobilization in the province.
Speaking to reporters, Afridi said Imran Khan had instructed party leaders to organize a public gathering within 10 days in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He confirmed that the rally is scheduled for 3 p.m. and is expected to draw supporters from across the region.
Afridi said the gathering would demonstrate the strength and continued popularity of the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) despite ongoing political challenges. He added that the event would send a message that public support for Imran Khan remains strong even in his absence.
He further stated that the rally would serve as evidence of PTI’s ability to maintain political momentum under difficult circumstances. According to Afridi, the event will highlight unity among party supporters and reaffirm confidence in the party’s leadership.
The chief minister invited citizens from across Pakistan to participate, describing the gathering as an open political show of strength.
Party organizers are expected to finalize logistics and security arrangements in the coming days, as local authorities prepare for a large turnout in Mardan. The event is anticipated to become one of the region’s significant political demonstrations this month, reflecting heightened political activity in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
