Pakistan and the United Nations reaffirmed their commitment to regional stability, peacekeeping, and stronger international cooperation during a high-level meeting at UN Headquarters in New York.
Pakistan reaffirmed its commitment to regional peace and global security as Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi met with UN Secretary-General António Guterres at the United Nations Headquarters in New York City.
The meeting focused on the evolving regional situation and broader international issues. Both sides exchanged views on promoting peace and stability, with particular attention to Pakistan’s diplomatic efforts aimed at reducing tensions in West Asia.
Naqvi highlighted Pakistan’s constructive role in supporting regional peace initiatives and emphasized the country’s long-standing contributions to UN peacekeeping operations. He stated that, despite complex security challenges, Pakistan’s leadership, including Field Marshal Asim Munir and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, has acted responsibly to promote stability and safeguard human lives.
The interior minister also stressed that successful UN peace missions require realistic mandates and adequate resources to effectively fulfill their objectives.
