The PCB says all relevant statements and evidence will be considered as it reviews discipline-related matters from Pakistan’s England tour.
The Pakistan Cricket Board has launched an inquiry into alleged discipline violations during the Pakistan cricket team’s ongoing tour of England, the board’s spokesperson Amir Mir said.
According to the PCB, the disciplinary matters are currently being reviewed as part of an internal inquiry. The board said all relevant individuals will be given an opportunity to present their positions, while available evidence will also be taken into consideration during the investigation.
“Discipline-related matters are being reviewed,” PCB spokesperson Amir Mir said.
He added that the board would consider the statements of all relevant individuals and the available evidence before reaching any conclusions.
Mir also rejected reports circulating on social media regarding the disciplinary proceedings, describing them as baseless. He urged the public and cricket fans not to rely on unverified information being shared online.
“Social media reports are baseless,” Mir said, according to the PCB statement.
He further advised the public to rely only on official statements issued by the Pakistan Cricket Board for confirmed information about the matter.
The development comes amid significant scrutiny surrounding Pakistan’s ongoing Test tour of England. The team has faced major changes during the series, with the PCB previously sending several players home and making changes to the coaching setup following Pakistan’s defeats in the opening two Tests.
The PCB’s latest inquiry is focused specifically on discipline-related matters, while the board has not disclosed further details about the individuals involved or the nature of the alleged violations.
The board is expected to announce further information after the inquiry process is completed.
