A controversial video from actress and host Fiza Ali’s morning show has sparked widespread debate, landing her in trouble after it went viral on social media.
According to details, the Pakistan Electronic Media Regulatory Authority (PEMRA) took initial action by issuing a show-cause notice to the private TV channel following the circulation of the video online.
After facing criticism, Fiza Ali issued a clarification regarding the viral clip. In a statement shared on Instagram, she said the moment occurred spontaneously in a light-hearted manner and was taken out of context on social media. She emphasized that there was no inappropriate intention behind the act, describing it as a natural and friendly reaction.
Fiza Ali added that she has always respected her profession and her audience and will continue her career with the same principles in mind.
The incident took place during a live show when, at his daughter’s request, actor Ejaz Khan lifted Fiza Ali on his shoulders. The clip quickly went viral, drawing mixed reactions from the public.
Punjab Information Minister Uzma Bukhari also reacted strongly to the video. She stated that Fiza Ali has a long-standing tendency to go to extreme lengths for ratings. In an interview, Bukhari called the incident regrettable and questioned the host’s sense of ethics.
She further criticized the act being performed on camera in front of a young child, saying that while personal happiness is understandable, such behavior in public is inappropriate. Bukhari added that the footage could have been edited or prevented from airing, but it appeared that chasing ratings had taken priority.
The minister concluded by expressing disappointment over the situation, stating that such content should not be promoted on television.
