Petrol price rises to Rs358.77 per litre while high-speed diesel reaches Rs381.77 from Sept. 8
ISLAMABAD: The federal government has increased the price of petrol by Rs12.90 per litre, taking the new rate to Rs358.77 per litre, according to the latest petroleum price revision.
The new prices will take effect from Tuesday, Sept. 8, 2026. The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) revised the ex-depot prices of petroleum products under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, according to a notification issued by the Ministry of Energy’s Petroleum Division.
Following the increase, the price of Motor Spirit (petrol) has risen from Rs345.87 to Rs358.77 per litre, an increase of Rs12.90.
The government has also increased the price of high-speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3.72 per litre. Its price has risen from Rs378.05 to Rs381.77 per litre.
The latest revision comes after the previous review in which the government had reduced petrol by Rs3.13 per litre while increasing HSD by Rs3.74 per litre.
The latest rates have been revised under the government’s petroleum pricing mechanism, which takes into account international oil market movements and other relevant cost factors.
