PM&DC says the nationwide MDCAT 2026 has been rescheduled from August 16 to September 20 to improve transparency, security, and examination arrangements.
ISLAMABAD: The Pakistan Medical and Dental Council (PM&DC) has postponed the Medical and Dental College Admission Test (MDCAT) 2026 following instructions from Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, giving thousands of aspiring medical and dental students additional time to prepare for the nationwide entrance examination.
According to an official statement issued by PM&DC, the test, which was originally scheduled for August 16, 2026, will now be conducted on September 20, 2026.
The council said the decision was taken to ensure the examination is organized in a more secure, transparent, and candidate-friendly manner. Officials added that the additional preparation period will help improve examination arrangements while safeguarding the credibility and integrity of the admission process.
PM&DC clarified that only the examination date has changed. All previously announced eligibility criteria, examination procedures, testing centers, and other terms and conditions will remain unchanged unless notified otherwise through an official announcement.
The council urged students, parents, educational institutions, and other stakeholders to regularly check PM&DC’s official communication channels for updated instructions and any future notifications regarding the examination.
