ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Muhammad Shehbaz Sharif on Monday met Polish Minister, Member of the Council of Ministers and Coordinator of Special Services Tomasz Siemoniak, with the two sides discussing ways to further strengthen relations between Pakistan and Poland.
During the meeting, Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif expressed satisfaction over the positive developments in bilateral relations and said Pakistan was keen to transform its historic friendship with Poland into a long-term, strong and multifaceted partnership.
The prime minister reviewed recent contacts between the two countries and emphasized the importance of high-level leadership exchanges in promoting bilateral relations.
He also stressed the need to further strengthen links between the business communities of Pakistan and Poland, highlighting the importance of greater engagement between the private sectors of the two countries.
Prime Minister Shehbaz thanked Poland for its support for Pakistan in connection with the European Union’s Generalised Scheme of Preferences Plus (GSP+) scheme.
He expressed confidence that Pakistan and Poland would continue working to further consolidate their relations across various fields.
The meeting also covered important regional and international issues, particularly the situation in the Middle East.
Prime Minister Shehbaz emphasized the importance of dialogue and diplomacy to reduce regional tensions and resolve conflicts. He also reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to promoting peace and stability in the region.
The meeting comes as Pakistan seeks to build on its existing relations with Poland through stronger political engagement, economic cooperation and closer business-to-business contacts.
Both sides also discussed matters of mutual interest in the context of evolving regional and international developments.
