Akbar S. Babar says consultations with founding members aim to revive PTI’s original vision and discuss the party’s future direction.
Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founding leader Akbar S. Babar has announced the launch of an outreach campaign to reconnect with the party’s founding and long-serving members, marking a fresh effort to discuss the party’s future and organizational direction.
According to sources, Babar has begun consultations with founding members, including Ameen Zaki, Rana Suhail, Rana Jalil, Hanif Rajput and other senior figures. A meeting is expected to be convened to review the party’s current situation and formulate a future strategy.
In a statement, Babar said PTI was established to free Pakistan from what he described as political and other forms of entrenched influence. However, he claimed that the party itself has now fallen under the control of a “political mafia.”
He stressed the need to bring together sincere, ideological and founding workers on a single platform, saying the initiative is intended to help steer PTI back toward its founding principles and original objectives.
