RAWALPINDI: Chairman PTI Barrister Gohar has begun efforts to secure the release of Bushra Bibi, while also persuading the family of party founder Imran Khan to adopt a more flexible approach toward ongoing matters.
According to sources, Barrister Gohar recently visited Kot Lakhpat Jail, where he met detained PTI leaders and later held discussions with Imran Khan’s sister, Noreen Niazi. The meetings focused on legal strategies and reducing political tensions surrounding the issue.
Sources said that Imran Khan’s family has agreed to avoid controversial statements outside the jail, signaling a shift toward a more cautious and coordinated approach. Additionally, Bushra Bibi’s family has reportedly decided to refrain from sharing related messages on social media.
Party leadership has also agreed not to hold any contentious press conferences regarding the matter, aiming to keep the focus on legal proceedings rather than political confrontation.
Further consultations are expected next week, as Barrister Gohar, Mahmood Achakzai, and Allama Nasir Abbas are likely to meet the family again to build consensus.
Sources added that Bushra Bibi’s release will be pursued strictly through legal channels, with hearings on appeals filed by detained PTI leaders expected soon.
