Western weather system to bring rain, thunderstorms, and snowfall in northern areas as conditions intensify from March 24
A fresh weather system has entered Pakistan, bringing the likelihood of widespread rain, strong winds, and thunderstorms from March 24, according to the Meteorological Department.
The system, originating from western winds, is expected to first impact Balochistan before gradually spreading to other regions. Authorities warn that the system may intensify by the night of March 27, increasing rainfall activity across several areas.
In northern and central regions, including Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Punjab, and Islamabad, rain accompanied by thunderstorms is expected. Southern parts such as Sindh, including Karachi and Hyderabad, may also receive intermittent showers between March 25 and 29.
Meanwhile, snowfall is likely over upper regions including Gilgit-Baltistan and Azad Kashmir. The Meteorological Department has advised citizens to avoid unnecessary travel during severe weather conditions and remain cautious of strong winds and lightning.
