Sohail Afridi Claims Chief Justice Ignored His Greeting During Court Appearance

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Sohail Afridi says he greeted Chief Justice while fasting but received no response, reiterates commitment to non-protest politics

ISLAMABAD: (Anwar Zeb Khan) Sohail Afridi has alleged that the Supreme Court of Pakistan Chief Justice did not respond to his greeting during a recent court appearance, an incident he described as disappointing and unexpected.

Speaking publicly about the matter, Afridi said he approached the rostrum while observing a fast and extended the traditional Islamic greeting, “Assalam-o-Alaikum,” to the Chief Justice. According to him, the greeting went unanswered and was seemingly ignored before the judge left the courtroom.

Afridi emphasized that his remarks were not intended as a form of protest. “We want to tell the entire Pakistan that we do not engage in protest politics,” he said, underscoring his commitment to maintaining professional decorum within judicial proceedings.

There has been no immediate response from the Chief Justice’s office regarding the allegation. The development has sparked discussion within legal circles about courtroom etiquette and professional engagement between the bench and members of the bar.

The incident comes amid heightened sensitivity around judicial conduct and the relationship between lawyers and the judiciary in Pakistan.
