District sports and youth officials met journalists at the District Press Club Wana to discuss talent development, sports events and constructive opportunities for young people.
WANA: District sports and youth officials held detailed discussions with journalists in Wana on expanding sports opportunities, organizing constructive activities for young people and highlighting local talent in South Waziristan Lower.
District Sports Officer South Waziristan Lower Ehsanullah, District Youth Officer Saud Khan and Youth Ambassador Gul Muhammad Wazir visited the District Press Club Wana, where they met President Qismatullah Wazir and other members of the local journalist community.
During the meeting, participants discussed the promotion of sports across the district, youth-focused activities, talent hunt programs, sports events and initiatives aimed at providing young people with opportunities to showcase their abilities.
Ehsanullah said young people are a valuable asset to any society and providing them with opportunities to participate in positive activities is an important need. He said the sports department is focusing on promoting sports across the district and creating better opportunities for young athletes to demonstrate their abilities.
He said measures were also being taken to expand different sports competitions and activities in South Waziristan Lower, allowing talented young people at the local level to come forward. He added that the journalist community could play an important role in highlighting sports and youth-related activities.
Saud Khan said encouraging young people to participate in healthy, positive and constructive activities is a key objective of the youth department. He said various programs, awareness sessions, youth activities and training initiatives were being organized to develop the intellectual, social and creative abilities of young people.
Khan said the youth of South Waziristan Lower are talented and, with appropriate platforms and opportunities, can demonstrate their abilities at the district, provincial and national levels. He added that the youth department would continue working to engage young people in positive activities and highlight their issues and abilities before relevant forums.
Qismatullah Wazir said journalism has a fundamental role in highlighting positive developments in society, youth talent and public issues. He said the District Press Club Wana would make efforts to provide coverage to sports, youth activities and positive social initiatives so talented young people could receive greater opportunities to showcase their abilities.
He stressed the need for effective coordination between the media and relevant government institutions and said the press club would continue supporting and promoting positive initiatives focused on sports and youth development.
At the conclusion of the meeting, participants expressed their commitment to further strengthening cooperation among government institutions, the media and civil society to promote sports and constructive youth activities in South Waziristan Lower.
