Tom Cruise has recalled a memorable encounter with Princess Diana and a young Prince William during the filming of the first Mission: Impossible movie.
Speaking on The Jennifer Hudson Show, the Hollywood actor remembered Diana’s visit to the film set and described the late princess as warm and kind. He also recalled William as a polite and cheerful young boy during the meeting.
Cruise said the encounter took place while the first Mission: Impossible film was being made. He said both Diana and William were gracious toward everyone on the set.
The actor recently had another royal encounter when Prince William and Catherine, Princess of Wales, attended the premiere of his latest film, Digger, on Sept. 22.
Cruise praised the couple for their warmth and described them as an elegant and charismatic pair. He also complimented Catherine, adding that William had made a good choice.
The Hollywood star further praised the couple for their public work, saying they appeared down-to-earth despite their prominent positions.
Cruise’s recollection offers a glimpse into his earlier meeting with Diana and William, decades before his more recent appearance alongside members of the royal family.
