UAE says attacks on civilian infrastructure violate international law and urges diplomacy to prevent a broader Middle East conflict.
The United Arab Emirates has called for an immediate de-escalation of tensions in the Middle East, urging all parties to exercise restraint and return to diplomacy as fears grow over an expanding regional conflict.
In a statement issued by the UAE Ministry of Foreign Affairs, the government said attacks targeting civilian infrastructure are clear violations of international law and cannot be justified under any circumstances. The ministry expressed deep concern over the worsening security situation, warning that continued military escalation could trigger severe humanitarian and economic consequences across the region.
“The current situation requires restraint, wisdom and a renewed commitment to peaceful negotiations,” the ministry said, stressing that dialogue remains the only sustainable path to resolving disputes.
The UAE also underscored the need to safeguard freedom of navigation through the Strait of Hormuz, one of the world’s most strategically important maritime trade routes. Any disruption to shipping through the waterway could have far-reaching effects on global energy markets and international commerce.
The appeal comes as tensions involving Iran, the United States and Israel continue to intensify, prompting growing international concern over the risk of a broader regional confrontation. Several countries have urged all sides to avoid actions that could further inflame the crisis.
