The U.S. Embassy in Pakistan has announced that it will continue to provide both routine and emergency consular services in Islamabad. This comes after temporary disruptions affected consular operations in other parts of the country.
According to the embassy the U.S. Consulate in Peshawar temporarily suspended its services from March 2, while visa and consular appointments in Karachi and Lahore were canceled on March 3 due to traffic blockages. The embassy confirmed that normal consular operations in Islamabad will resume from March 3.
U.S. authorities have also decided to limit the movement of embassy staff across the country as a precautionary measure. American citizens residing in Pakistan have been advised to monitor local news closely and exercise caution in their daily activities.
The embassy’s statement underscores its commitment to ensuring the safety of its personnel and citizens, while maintaining essential services despite logistical and security challenges. Analysts suggest that these measures reflect heightened alertness due to ongoing security concerns in the region.
American nationals in Pakistan are urged to register with the embassy, stay informed, and follow official guidance to avoid any potential risks.
