The United States has invited Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif to join the proposed Gaza Board of Peace, a diplomatic initiative aimed at restoring stability, governance, and reconstruction in Gaza. A spokesperson for Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs confirmed that the invitation reflects recognition of Pakistan’s principled stance on Palestine and its active role in global peace efforts.
Speaking on the matter, the spokesperson emphasized that sustainable peace in Gaza requires international cooperation and that Pakistan will continue participating in global efforts to ensure security and humanitarian support. Analysts note that the invitation signals increased international trust in Pakistan’s diplomatic capabilities and its ability to contribute constructively to conflict resolution.
The Gaza Peace Board, proposed by US President Donald Trump, seeks to coordinate post-conflict governance, aid delivery, restoration of basic services, and long-term political solutions. Invitations have been sent to multiple world leaders to foster collective action.
Participation in this board would allow Pakistan to move beyond statements and play a tangible role in supporting the rights of Palestinians, ensuring humanitarian aid, and promoting fair, transparent reconstruction efforts. Officials stress that Pakistan’s involvement would reinforce its image as a responsible and principled actor on the international stage.
