Tribal Journalists’ Sacrifices Unforgettable, Freedom of Expression Non-Negotiable: QUJ President

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Peshawar:(Roshan Khan)- Aurdeen Masood, President of the Tribal Union of Journalists (QUJ), has praised the courage and dedication of journalists in the tribal districts, stating that history will always honor their professional sacrifices under challenging conditions. Speaking to delegations at his residence in Peshawar, he emphasized that protecting journalists’ rights and freedom of expression is a constitutional obligation, on which no compromise will be made. He criticized attempts by certain bureaucratic elements to restrict press freedoms, calling such actions contrary to democratic traditions.

Masood expressed hope that the young leadership in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa will play a key role in resolving issues faced by journalists. He urged that funds approved during previous governments for press clubs and the union be released immediately. A formal request has already been submitted to the Chief Minister for a meeting to discuss regional development and press-related matters.

Meanwhile, senior QUJ leadership, via conference call, reaffirmed their full confidence in Masood’s leadership and pledged complete support. An emergency cabinet meeting of the union is planned in Peshawar, Abbottabad, or Islamabad to formulate a future action plan. QUJ senior journalists warned that any attempts to harass members indirectly could trigger nationwide protests and coverage boycotts through democratic channels.
