Peshawar:(Roshan Khan)- Bara Press Club’s newly elected cabinet took their oath in a dignified ceremony at the Chief Minister House in Peshawar, where Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Chief Minister Muhammad Sohail Afridi administered the oath to the officials.
The event was attended by Special Assistant on Information Shafee Jan, Provincial Director General of Information Imran Zaib, and the Chief Minister’s focal person Shafiq Afridi, along with a large number of club members and newly elected officials.
During the ceremony, Chief Minister Afridi assured practical steps for the welfare of journalists and the resolution of issues they face. Bara Press Club President Muhammad Saleem Afridi presented a letter of appreciation and highlighted the concerns and demands of the journalist community.
Addressing the gathering, CM Afridi praised Bara Press Club for consistently supporting truth and raising public issues professionally. He emphasized the importance of independent journalism for democracy and societal development.
The Chief Minister also discussed the situation in Tirah, stating that while he opposes terrorism, certain closed-door operations are unacceptable and politically motivated. He added that the government has released PKR 400 crore for affected areas and will continue to support the public. Afridi further instructed immediate attention to the establishment and issues of the District Press Club in Khyber and affirmed ongoing development efforts despite challenges.
