The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has imposed a fine of PKR 20 million on fast bowler Naseem Shah following a controversial tweet that violated the terms of his central contract.
According to the PCB, a show-cause notice was issued to Naseem Shah on March 27, 2026, outlining multiple breaches of contract and seeking his explanation. After receiving his response, a three-member disciplinary committee conducted a formal hearing on March 30 to review the case in detail.
Although Naseem Shah submitted an unconditional apology, the committee concluded that he had breached several clauses of his central contract. Taking all factors into account, the PCB decided to impose a significant financial penalty of PKR 20 million.
The board further revealed that Naseem Shah has already dismissed his social media advisor, who was allegedly involved in the incident. The PCB has also decided to blacklist the advisor, preventing them from working with any players under its jurisdiction in the future.
Reaffirming its stance, the PCB stated that it remains committed to maintaining professional standards, ensuring compliance with contractual obligations, and protecting the integrity and reputation of the sport.
