Faysal Quraishi, celebrated Pakistani TV and film actor, expresses frustration over not receiving Sitara-e-Imtiaz despite decades-long contribution to the entertainment industry.
ISLAMABAD: Veteran actor Faysal Quraishi, widely recognized for his stellar performances in Pakistani television hits like Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Bashar Momin, and Case No. 9, has expressed his disappointment at not being awarded the Sitara-e-Imtiaz.
Speaking on a podcast with Shahzad Nawaz for NJ Spotlight, Quraishi shared his candid thoughts about the perceived snub. “I am thinking of going to the Imtiaz store as a protest and announcing that I am standing in Imtiaz, but I still haven’t received any Sitara… It’s been 33 years that I’ve been in the field, and I don’t know who gets Sitara-e-Imtiaz,” he remarked.
The actor, who has also been praised for his hosting in Ramzan transmissions, emphasized his patriotic spirit and clarified that he is not politically inclined. He expressed hope that he might eventually receive the award, adding, “I will accept the award if I get it because I deserve it.”
Faysal Quraishi’s remarks highlight ongoing conversations in Pakistan about recognizing the contributions of long-standing entertainment figures. The actor continues to work on upcoming projects set to air soon on television. Watch here:
