Actor highlights increasing concerns about online harassment after publicly sharing offensive message received on Instagram.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistani television actor Alizeh Shah has drawn attention to rising concerns over online harassment after sharing an allegedly inappropriate message received through social media.
The actor posted a screenshot on her Instagram story showing a direct message from a user who asked an offensive question about paying for spending a night with her. The post quickly circulated among fans and social media users, triggering widespread criticism of such behavior online.
In response, Shah wrote that the message should be seen publicly so the sender could face embarrassment among family, friends and colleagues. She later indicated that the user deleted the account and blocked her following the backlash.
Shah, who rose to fame through several popular television dramas and maintains a large social media following, has previously spoken out against harassment and exploitation in the entertainment industry. She has frequently used her platform to highlight issues related to inappropriate behavior and lack of accountability in digital spaces.
The incident has renewed discussion about the risks faced by public figures, particularly women, on social media platforms. Digital rights advocates and users have repeatedly called for stronger reporting mechanisms and enforcement of community guidelines to curb abusive behavior.
The case adds to a growing list of incidents in which celebrities in Pakistan have publicly exposed harassment received online, underscoring ongoing concerns about digital safety and responsible social media use.
