Live weapon test highlights operational readiness and growing indigenous defense capability
Pakistan Navy has successfully conducted a live firing of an indigenously developed ship-launched anti-ship missile, marking a significant milestone in the country’s defense capabilities, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR).
The military’s media wing stated that the missile accurately struck its target at an extended range with high speed, demonstrating precision-strike capability and operational preparedness. The successful engagement reflects the Navy’s increasing focus on modern warfare requirements and indigenous technological advancement.
Chief of the Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf, along with senior scientists and engineers, witnessed the test. Officials emphasized that the missile is equipped with an advanced guidance system and enhanced maneuverability, enabling it to evade threats and adapt to dynamic combat environments.
ISPR noted that the development highlights a strong integration of technological expertise and operational proficiency. The successful launch reinforces Pakistan Navy’s commitment to maintaining a credible sea-based deterrent and ensuring maritime security in the region.
Top leadership, including Chief of Army Staff Field Marshal Asim Munir, President Asif Ali Zardari, and Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, congratulated the teams involved. The achievement follows earlier successful missile tests by both the Pakistan Navy and Air Force, reflecting steady progress in indigenous defense systems.
