Pakistan Airports Authority to Launch Electric Cart Service at Major Airports to Boost Passenger Convenience

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Move Aims to Modernize Airports Mobility and Improve Passenger Experience Across Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan

The Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) has announced a significant step toward modernizing airport infrastructure by introducing electric passenger cart services at major airports across the country, including Islamabad, Karachi, Lahore, and Multan. The initiative is designed to enhance passenger convenience and streamline mobility within large airport complexes.

According to the Director Commercial of the PAA, the rollout will be implemented in phases, with the initial focus on the country’s busiest airports. The authority has already invited tenders for the procurement of electric mobility carts, officially initiating the competitive bidding process for service providers.

The new electric cart service aims to assist passengers in moving efficiently between parking areas, terminal buildings, and concourse halls. It will also facilitate returning passengers traveling from terminal exits back to parking zones, reducing physical strain and improving overall airport accessibility.

A key feature of the planned system is a dedicated mobile application that will allow passengers to book electric carts in advance or on arrival. Officials believe this digital integration will significantly reduce waiting times and ensure smoother passenger flow, particularly during peak travel hours.

PAA officials emphasized that the service is especially beneficial for elderly passengers, families with young children, and travelers carrying heavy luggage. The initiative reflects a broader strategy to upgrade airport services and align Pakistan’s aviation infrastructure with international standards of passenger facilitation.

The authority has stated that further details regarding operational timelines, service structure, and availability will be announced once the tendering and procurement phase is completed. Aviation stakeholders view the development as a step forward in improving airport efficiency and enhancing the overall travel experience for millions of passengers annually.
