Pakistan’s Senate Standing Committee on Interior has formally taken notice of the high-profile Anmol alias Pinky drug case, intensifying pressure on law enforcement agencies over alleged links between the accused and influential circles.
During the committee meeting, Chairman Faisal Saleem Rehman questioned the scope of the alleged narcotics network and directed authorities to present a comprehensive report in the next session. The committee summoned the Director General of the Anti-Narcotics Force (ANF) and also sought detailed answers from the Federal Investigation Agency (FIA).
According to committee proceedings, the chairman demanded clarity on “who Anmol alias Pinky was supplying drugs to,” insisting that investigators disclose whether any judges, bureaucrats, parliamentarians or other influential individuals were connected to the alleged network.
In a strongly worded statement, Faisal Saleem Rehman said that if he had the authority, he would have ordered a medical examination of the judge who granted bail to the accused. He further stated that efforts would be made to ensure that anyone found involved in consuming narcotics supplied through the network should be sent to rehabilitation centers.
The remarks have triggered widespread debate on social media and in political circles, with many calling for transparent investigations into alleged elite-level involvement in narcotics activities. The case has already attracted national attention following multiple claims and revelations linked to Anmol Pinky’s alleged operations and associations.
The latest development signals growing institutional scrutiny over the case, as lawmakers push for accountability and demand answers regarding possible protection networks and the alleged reach of the narcotics trade within powerful segments of society.
