Pakistani TikTok Star Jannat Mirza Faces Backlash After Viral Eid Meat Packing Reel

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Pakistani social media sensation Jannat Mirza has come under intense criticism after sharing a new Eid-ul-Adha reel that quickly went viral across social media platforms. The influencer, known for her glamorous content and massive online following, sparked debate after appearing in a video while sorting and packaging sacrificial meat during Eid celebrations.

Jannat Mirza, who remains one of Pakistan’s most-followed TikTok personalities with millions of followers on both TikTok and Instagram, uploaded the reel as part of her Eid-ul-Adha content. In the video, she could be seen sitting on the floor surrounded by sacrificial meat while preparing distribution bags for relatives and the needy.

Dressed casually in a black T-shirt and black sweatpants, Jannat accessorized her look with gold bangles, while her hair was tied back in a ponytail. During the clip, she was also seen adjusting her hair while continuing the meat packaging process, a moment that immediately drew criticism from viewers online.

Several social media users accused the influencer of creating the reel purely for attention and engagement. Critics claimed the video looked more like a staged social media production than a genuine act associated with Eid-ul-Adha traditions.

One user commented that influencers often go to extreme lengths to gain viral traction, while another criticized the video’s presentation and questioned hygiene standards during food handling. Others specifically pointed out that touching hair while packing meat could raise cleanliness concerns.

The reel also triggered discussions about influencer culture and the growing trend of turning religious and family moments into social media content. While many users mocked the video, some fans defended Jannat Mirza, arguing that celebrities and influencers are frequently targeted online regardless of their intentions.

Jannat Mirza rose to fame through lip-sync videos, fashion content, and lifestyle posts. She also appeared in the Punjabi film Tere Bajrey Di Rakhi and belongs to a well-known family, with her father reportedly serving as a senior police officer. Her sisters, Alishba Anjum and Sehar Mirza, are also popular digital creators.

The controversy once again highlights how quickly influencer content can become the center of online scrutiny in Pakistan, especially during religious occasions when audiences tend to react strongly to public behavior and presentation.
