Election Preparations Intensify as Punjab Police Plans Massive Force Transfer to Gilgit-Baltistan

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

LAHORE: Punjab Police Operations Branch has revealed plans to transport 5,000 police personnel from various units of Punjab Police to Gilgit-Baltistan for election-related security duties.

According to the official memorandum dated May 30, 2026, issued from the Central Police Office Punjab in Lahore, the deployment was ordered by the relevant authority to support election operations in Gilgit-Baltistan. The letter was addressed to the SSP/MT Punjab and carried the subject line, “Provision of Force to Gilgit-Baltistan.”

A total of 5,000 personnel will be drawn from multiple police units across Punjab. The largest share, 1,958 officers, is to come from the Punjab Highway Patrol (PHP), followed by 1,500 personnel from the Regional Mounted Police (RMP). Another 1,242 officers are to be provided by the Punjab Constabulary (PC), while 300 personnel will be deployed from Lahore police units.

Authorities also directed officials to prepare a comprehensive transportation plan for the movement of the force. The memorandum specifically sought details regarding buses, including registration numbers, drivers’ names, contact information and fitness certificates for each vehicle.

The correspondence instructed the concerned department to submit the required transportation details to the Operations Branch by 4 p.m. on the same day, indicating the urgency of the arrangements.
