Muhammad Sohail Afridi commends Saudi authorities for exceptional services provided to pilgrims and expresses interest in strengthening bilateral cooperation.
PESHAWAR: Chief Minister of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Muhammad Sohail Afridi has lauded the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia for its outstanding arrangements and services for pilgrims during Hajj, describing the facilities and management as exemplary.
In a special letter addressed to Saudi Arabia’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Nawaf bin Saeed Al-Malki, the chief minister praised the Saudi government’s efforts to ensure the comfort, safety, and well-being of millions of pilgrims performing the annual pilgrimage.
Afridi acknowledged the extensive preparations made by Saudi authorities, highlighting the high standard of facilities, efficient management, and exceptional hospitality extended to Hajj pilgrims. He said the arrangements reflected the Kingdom’s commitment to serving the guests of Allah and facilitating the smooth conduct of one of the world’s largest religious gatherings.
The chief minister also expressed his desire to meet the Saudi ambassador in person. According to the letter, he wishes to personally convey his gratitude to the Saudi government and leadership for their dedicated services during Hajj.
In addition to extending thanks, Afridi indicated his interest in discussing matters of mutual interest and exploring opportunities to further strengthen bilateral cooperation between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia. The proposed meeting is expected to focus on enhancing ties and promoting collaboration in areas beneficial to both sides.
Pakistan and Saudi Arabia share longstanding diplomatic, economic, and religious relations. The Kingdom hosts hundreds of thousands of Pakistani pilgrims annually for Hajj and Umrah, making cooperation in religious affairs and people-to-people exchanges an important component of the bilateral relationship.
