Pakistan’s entertainment industry is facing fresh controversy after reports emerged that a biographical drama based on Anmol Pinky, a Karachi woman accused of operating a narcotics network, may be heading to television screens. The reported project has generated intense discussion online, with critics and supporters divided over the idea.
Anmol Pinky, 31, came into the spotlight following her arrest in a joint intelligence-led operation on May 12, 2026. Authorities have alleged that she was involved in a nationwide cocaine and narcotics supply network. The case remains under legal proceedings, and allegations against her have yet to be adjudicated by the courts.
According to reports circulating on social media and entertainment platforms, production house 7th Sky Entertainment, associated with Geo Entertainment, is planning a drama project inspired by the controversial case. Reports further claim that Saba Qamar has been considered for the lead role portraying the accused woman.
Images shared online allegedly showed the actress alongside producers Asad Qureshi and Abdullah Kadwani, fueling speculation that development work on the project could begin soon. Reports have also linked journalist Shahzeb Khanzada to the writing team, although no official announcement confirming the project has been issued.
The reported biopic has drawn criticism from many social media users, who argue that dramatizing the life of an individual facing serious criminal allegations risks glorifying criminal activity.
