ISLAMABAD: A new wave of high-value toll plaza auctions has been concluded by the National Highway Authority along the N-5 National Highway, signaling a major restructuring of highway revenue operations in the country.
Several toll points were awarded at strong competitive bids, with Rani Pur leading at Rs120.877 million, followed by Syed Abad at Rs117.7 million, Moro at Rs116.415 million, and Kandaro at Rs115.818 million. Qazi Ahmed fetched Rs97.8 million, while Ghotki stood at Rs69.1 million.
A closely watched bidding round saw Ubauro rise from Rs77.7 million to Rs82.2 million, secured by the National Logistics Corporation. The same firm also won Sadiqabad at Rs96.1 million.
Ahmedpur East and Machhi Goth were awarded at Rs99.2 million and Rs78.1 million respectively, reflecting sustained private sector interest in toll operations.
According to officials, the contracts will remain effective until June 30, 2027 and are based on guaranteed monthly revenue commitments. Firms must comply with eligibility rules set by the Pakistan Engineering Council and remain on the Active Taxpayers List of the Federal Board of Revenue. Insurance coverage for cash-in-transit operations is also mandatory.
The move aims to strengthen revenue collection and ensure uninterrupted maintenance across key national highways.
