Jamaat-e-Islami leader highlights economic relief, regional diplomacy and expanded cooperation among Muslim countries.
LAHORE: Jamaat-e-Islami Pakistan chief Hafiz Naeem-ur-Rehman has called for fixing petrol prices at Rs225 per liter, saying the move could provide much-needed relief to citizens facing rising inflation and economic pressure.
Speaking at a press conference in Lahore, Hafiz Naeem discussed Pakistan’s political, economic and regional challenges, arguing that global powers have failed to achieve their intended objectives in the region.
He reiterated Jamaat-e-Islami’s long-standing position on Israel, describing it as an illegitimate state and saying his party’s stance remains unchanged.
Commenting on defense and diplomatic matters, Hafiz Naeem said the defense cooperation agreement between Pakistan and Saudi Arabia should also include Turkey and Iran to create a stronger regional security framework.
He also welcomed the possibility of an agreement between Iran and the United States, calling it a positive development for regional stability. He said Pakistan has played a constructive role in the matter.
