Pakistan and Iran reaffirm close diplomatic coordination as both countries pledge continued cooperation to promote lasting regional peace and stability.
ISLAMABAD: Pakistan and Iran have reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening regional peace and stability after Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Ishaq Dar held a telephone conversation with Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi.
During the discussion, Dar reiterated Pakistan’s commitment to supporting initiatives aimed at achieving lasting peace and emphasized Islamabad’s readiness to play a constructive role in promoting regional stability, according to Pakistan’s Ministry of Foreign Affairs.
Araghchi expressed gratitude for Pakistan’s continued support for the peace process and appreciated Islamabad’s efforts in ensuring the safe repatriation of Iranian crew members and fishermen. Both leaders agreed to maintain close coordination on regional developments and issues of mutual interest.
Separately, Araghchi also spoke with the foreign ministers of Uzbekistan, South Korea, Romania, and the United Kingdom to discuss the implementation of the recently signed peace memorandum of understanding between Iran and the United States. He briefed his counterparts on ongoing negotiations toward a final agreement, highlighting the importance of continued diplomatic engagement.
Officials from Uzbekistan and Romania welcomed efforts to reduce tensions in West Asia, while South Korea emphasized maritime security as a key component of regional stability. During talks with British Foreign Secretary Yvette Cooper, both sides also reaffirmed their commitment to supporting peace and regional security.
