Qatar, Pakistan Report Breakthrough as US-Iran Doha Talks Make ‘Positive Progress’

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Pakistan and Qatar have completed separate meetings with US and Iranian negotiators in Doha, with officials reporting positive progress toward a memorandum of understanding aimed at advancing peace, nuclear negotiations and regional stability.

Pakistan and Qatar have concluded separate rounds of discussions with United States and Iranian negotiators in Doha, marking another step forward in diplomatic efforts to ease tensions between Washington and Tehran, Pakistan’s Foreign Office announced on Thursday.

According to the Foreign Office, the mediators reported “positive progress” on several aspects of a proposed memorandum of understanding (MoU), building on the momentum created during the recent Bürgenstock negotiations in Switzerland. Both sides agreed to continue talks in the coming days, while the next round of negotiations will be scheduled after the funeral ceremonies for Iran’s former Supreme Leader.

US President Donald Trump said negotiations with Iran were moving in a positive direction and reaffirmed that preventing Iran from obtaining nuclear weapons remains Washington’s top priority. He also expressed optimism about future developments following recent discussions with Iranian officials.

Technical-level negotiations in Doha have focused on implementing a long-term peace framework, safeguarding commercial shipping through the Strait of Hormuz and strengthening last month’s ceasefire. Key agenda items include the release of $6 billion in frozen Iranian assets, maritime security guarantees and broader efforts to reduce regional tensions.

The latest discussions follow the Islamabad Memorandum of Understanding, brokered by Pakistan, which opened the door for direct US-Iran engagement. During the June meeting in Bürgenstock, negotiators agreed to establish a High-Level Committee and pursue a roadmap toward a comprehensive agreement within 60 days.
