Military leadership pays tribute to Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed for his bravery, leadership and sacrifice during the 1965 war.
The 61st martyrdom anniversary of Major Raja Aziz Bhatti Shaheed, a hero of the 1965 war and recipient of the Nishan-e-Haider, is being observed with tributes to his extraordinary courage, leadership and sacrifice.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir, Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces; Admiral Naveed Ashraf, Chief of Naval Staff; Air Chief Marshal Zaheer Ahmed Baber Sidhu, Chief of Air Staff; and General Syed Aamer Raza, Commander National Strategic Command, paid tribute to Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed.
The military leadership remembered his exceptional bravery, leadership and ultimate sacrifice in the defence of Pakistan.
During the 1965 war, Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed commanded the defence of the Burki sector near Lahore. Despite continuous attacks by opposing forces, he remained at his position for five days and five nights, carrying out his responsibilities with determination.
His steadfast leadership and resolve played an important role in stopping the enemy’s advance. His conduct during the battle became an enduring example of courage, commitment to duty and sacrifice.
ISPR said Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed’s selfless devotion to duty and extraordinary sacrifice continue to serve as an inspiration for Pakistan’s defenders. His unwavering courage and commitment to defending the country remain a source of motivation for future generations.
Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed fulfilled his responsibilities with dedication and steadfastness. His sacrifice earned him a lasting place in Pakistan’s military history, while his name continues to be associated with bravery, duty and devotion to the country.
On his 61st martyrdom anniversary, the Pakistan Army also reaffirmed its commitment to defending the country’s sovereignty and security with the same courage, determination and spirit of sacrifice demonstrated by Major Aziz Bhatti Shaheed.
