Field Marshal Asim Munir reviews security conditions, counterterrorism operations and operational preparedness during a visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
Field Marshal Asim Munir on Tuesday reaffirmed the armed forces’ resolve to defeat terrorism and contribute to lasting peace and stability across Pakistan during his visit to Corps Headquarters Peshawar.
According to the Inter-Services Public Relations (ISPR), the Chief of Defence Forces was briefed on the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counterterrorism operations, border management measures and the operational preparedness of military formations deployed in the province.
The briefing covered the overall security environment in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa as well as measures related to border management. Officials also briefed the field marshal on ongoing counterterrorism operations and the readiness of formations operating in the province.
Field Marshal Asim Munir directed the formations to remain vigilant at all times and maintain the highest level of operational preparedness, ISPR said.
He also appreciated the high morale, readiness and professional capabilities of officers and troops. He commended their steadfastness in safeguarding the country and its people.
According to ISPR, Field Marshal Asim Munir said the armed forces remained committed to defeating terrorism with the unwavering support of the nation and to establishing lasting peace and stability across the country.
During the visit, the field marshal also visited the Martyrs’ Memorial, where he laid a floral wreath and paid tribute to those who lost their lives in service to the country.
He said the great sacrifices of the martyrs for the country would never be forgotten.
The visit provided an opportunity to review the security situation in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, ongoing counterterrorism efforts and the operational preparedness of military formations deployed in the province.
The Corps Commander Peshawar received Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Asim Munir upon his arrival in Peshawar.
