NEW YORK: Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif held separate informal meetings with Austrian Federal Chancellor Christian Stocker and Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud on the sidelines of the 81st session of the United Nations General Assembly in New York.
The meetings took place during the opening session of the UN General Assembly, where Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif is attending alongside other world leaders.
According to the Prime Minister’s Office, the meetings with the Austrian chancellor and Somali president were held in a cordial atmosphere.
During his interaction with Chancellor Christian Stocker, the prime minister discussed progress in bilateral relations between Pakistan and Austria and matters of mutual interest.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif also held a separate informal meeting with Somali President Hassan Sheikh Mohamud. The two leaders discussed bilateral relations between Pakistan and Somalia, along with issues of mutual interest.
The meetings formed part of the prime minister’s engagements with participating world leaders during his visit to the United States for the 81st UN General Assembly session.
The Prime Minister’s Office said the interactions provided an opportunity to discuss bilateral relations and areas of mutual interest with the leadership of Austria and Somalia.
