Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar says PTI failed to mobilize large crowds or block roads across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, claiming the public rejected its government.
Federal Information Minister Attaullah Tarar has claimed that Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) failed to mobilize large public gatherings across Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, saying not even a single road was blocked in the province.
In a post on X, Tarar argued that if PTI had widespread public support, millions of people would have gathered in every district of the province, bringing roads to a standstill.

“If PTI had public support, there would have been crowds of millions in every district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa today, and roads would have been blocked,” Tarar said in his post.
He also claimed that the government had received information suggesting PTI intended to stage another incident similar to May 9, referring to the violent unrest that followed the arrest of former Prime Minister Imran Khan in 2023.
“Forget May 9; not even a single road was blocked in the province,” Tarar wrote, asserting that the situation did not match the expectations surrounding the party’s anticipated response.
The minister further claimed that the public had rejected the PTI government in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. He said the recent development had given people new hope, although he did not elaborate on the nature of that hope in his post.
Tarar’s remarks come amid political developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where the federal government’s actions and PTI’s response have become subjects of political debate.
His post presented the absence of road blockades and large gatherings as evidence of limited public mobilization. However, the statement reflects the minister’s assessment of the situation and does not independently establish the level of PTI’s public support across the province.
The remarks add to the political exchange between the federal government and PTI over public backing, political stability and developments in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
