ST JOHN’S, Antigua and Barbuda: Queen Camilla has reunited with King Charles during his Caribbean tour, joining the monarch for a Sunday church service in Antigua and Barbuda as the royal couple continued engagements ahead of the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting (CHOGM).

The royal couple attended a service at St John’s Pentecostal House of Restoration in the capital, St John’s, on Sunday. Their joint appearance marked a significant moment in the King’s nine-day Caribbean tour, which is taking place ahead of the Commonwealth summit.

Camilla attracted attention with her vibrant turquoise outfit, choosing a colourful look suited to the Caribbean’s warm weather. She wore a chiffon dress designed by Anna Valentine, adding a distinctive touch to the occasion.

The service was also attended by Lady Sandra Williams and former West Indies cricket legend Sir Viv Richards, who joined the royal couple for the gathering.

Queen joins King midway through Caribbean tour

Camilla’s arrival marked the fifth day of Charles’ nine-day Caribbean tour. The King had initially embarked on the visit without his wife, travelling to the Bahamas and Guyana before arriving in Antigua and Barbuda on Oct. 30.

The Queen joined him in the Caribbean over the weekend, following the earlier stages of the royal tour. Her travel arrangements reportedly reflected the demands associated with long-haul journeys.

Royal commentator Emily Nash of Hello! magazine said Camilla was expected to join the King in Antigua and Barbuda rather than accompany him throughout the entire trip. She also noted that the Queen does not particularly enjoy lengthy flights.

The arrangement meant the King could undertake the initial engagements before being joined by his wife for the later part of the Caribbean visit.

Joint appearance ahead of Commonwealth summit

The couple’s appearance at the church service comes as they prepare for further engagements connected to the Commonwealth Heads of Government Meeting.

Their visit to Antigua and Barbuda forms part of the wider royal programme in the Caribbean ahead of the gathering of Commonwealth leaders. The summit provides an important occasion for engagement with member countries, including those in the Caribbean region.

The joint appearance also brought the King and Queen together publicly after Charles had undertaken the earlier stages of his regional tour alone.

With the Commonwealth meeting approaching, the royal couple are continuing their scheduled engagements in the region, highlighting the Caribbean’s place in the royal family’s Commonwealth programme.
