PCB Chairman Mohsin Naqvi has said that the final decision on Pakistan’s participation in the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup will be made by the Government of Pakistan.
Speaking to the media in Lahore, Mohsin Naqvi stated that the Pakistan Cricket Board operates under government policy and will move forward only after official instructions are received. He said the PCB is waiting for the prime minister’s return to the country before any final decision is taken regarding the tournament.
Naqvi added that while the board has prepared multiple contingency plans, including Plan A, B, and C, clarity from the government is necessary before implementing any of them. He stressed that the PCB would fully respect and follow the government’s decision.
The PCB chairman also expressed concern over what he described as unfair treatment of Bangladesh in the World Cup context. He said Bangladesh is a full and equal member of the International Cricket Council and deserves the same treatment as other teams. Naqvi warned against double standards, stating that no country should dictate terms to another.
He said Pakistan would take a clear stance if any pressure or unfair conditions were imposed. Naqvi concluded by saying that all details would be shared when the appropriate time comes.
