Peshawar (Roshan Khan Wazir): Rescue and relief operations are ongoing in Tirah Valley and other districts of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa following heavy snowfall, with Chief Minister Sohail Khan Afridi personally overseeing the efforts in the affected areas.
Special Assistant to the Chief Minister on Information and Public Relations, Shafeeq Jan, stated that due to the recent intense snowfall in Tirah Valley and other districts, the provincial government immediately launched rescue, relief, and road restoration operations.
In an official statement, he said that all government machinery in Abbottabad, Mansehra, Battagram, Swat, Dir, Chitral, and other mountainous districts has been fully mobilized, and the relevant departments are actively participating in the relief efforts. Roads blocked by snow are being cleared with heavy machinery to ensure the public receives timely assistance and to minimize difficulties.
Shafeeq Jan added that rescue teams from various districts have been deployed to evacuate people stranded in Tirah Valley. Affected individuals have been safely transferred to temporary camps where food and other basic facilities are being provided.
He further said that Chief Minister Sohail Afridi is personally monitoring the ongoing rescue and relief operations in Tirah and other affected districts. Additionally, all FM radio stations under the Information Department are broadcasting special programs to keep the public informed in a timely manner.
