13 Lahore Hospitals on High Alert as Punjab Gears Up for Basant

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

LAHORE: (Click Pakistan) Punjab Health Department has put 13 big governmental hospitals in Lahore on high alert on the period between Feb. 6 and Feb. 8, in which the city is set to celebrate Basant.

As per the official directives, all the specific hospitals have been ordered to make sure that the entire presence of medical, nursing and paramedical staff is guaranteed during the course of the festival. Hospital administrations have also been directed to have sufficient stocks of first aid medicines, intravenous fluids, vaccines and surgical equipments to handle any emergency arising.

The department has also asked hospitals to stock enough blood bags and make lists of new lists of voluntary blood donors. Certain beds in the hospital will be allocated to address the possible injuries caused by Basant such as accidents caused by kite flying.

It has been stressed that all diagnostic centers like X-ray, ultrasound, CT scan and MRI machines should be operational during the alert period. The hospitals have also been advised to maintain constant mobile and telephone connectivity in order to coordinate their emergency activities.

Moreover, the individual hospitals have also been advised to develop an extensive emergency response plan and hand it to the Punjab Health Department without delay.

The Basant, which has long been characterized by kite-flying and general feasts, has in the past caused injuries to people and the governments have stepped up medical readiness to guarantee safety to people during the celebrations.
