Iran’s senior military leadership says the country is fully prepared to defend its sovereignty as regional tensions with the United States remain elevated.
Iran has warned that any military attack by the United States would trigger a decisive and devastating response, as tensions between Tehran and Washington remain high following recent confrontations in the region.
Major General Ali Abdollahi, commander of Iran’s Khatam al-Anbiya Central Headquarters, said the country’s armed forces are fully prepared to defend Iran’s territory, sovereignty and national interests against any external threat. His remarks were carried by Iranian state media.
The senior commander said Iran would respond forcefully to any hostile action and would not hesitate to retaliate if the country were attacked. He added that the Iranian military remains on high alert and maintains a high level of operational readiness.
Abdollahi also criticized the United States, accusing Washington of pursuing policies designed to increase political and military pressure on Iran. He described the US as a hostile adversary and said Tehran would continue strengthening coordination between its armed forces, government institutions and the public to safeguard national unity.
The commander further claimed that Iran’s opponents, after failing to achieve their objectives through military means, are now attempting to create divisions between the country’s leadership and its people. He said such efforts would not undermine Iran’s resolve or national security.
According to Abdollahi, Iran’s defense capabilities cover the entire country, and its military strength remains a key factor in maintaining national security and regional stability. The remarks come amid continued uncertainty in the Middle East and ongoing tensions between Iran and the United States.
