The survivor claims repeated assault attempts and a poisoning bid, calling on authorities for protection and swift legal action
LAHORE: (Momina) A married woman from a village on the outskirts of Lahore has accused her brother-in-law of attempting to rape her and later sexually assaulting her, according to her statement seeking legal action.
The mother of two alleged that the first incident occurred when her brother-in-law tried to assault her inside the family home. She claimed that nearly two weeks later, he allegedly carried out the assault. The woman further accused her aunt of facilitating the incidents and claimed she was later poisoned in an attempt on her life.
The survivor said she fell seriously ill after consuming food she suspected had been laced with toxic substances but recovered after receiving medical treatment. She described the episode as a “miraculous escape.”
Now seeking justice, the woman has appealed to law enforcement authorities for immediate protection and the registration of a criminal case. She said she fears for her safety and that of her children.
Police officials have yet to publicly comment on the allegations. Investigations are expected to begin following a formal complaint.
