ISLAMABAD: Under the leadership of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif, Pakistan convened a high-level review meeting to assess the country’s overall security situation amid growing regional tensions.
The prime minister directed all federal and provincial agencies to implement comprehensive and effective security measures immediately. He emphasized that all institutions must operate in full coordination and maintain continuous communication to ensure national safety. Officials reported that security forces are on high alert and taking all necessary steps to safeguard the country.
Considering the situation in Iran, the prime minister instructed the Ministry of Foreign Affairs to facilitate the safe return of Pakistani citizens from Iran. He ordered that evacuees be brought back via Azerbaijan and directed the ministry to coordinate promptly with the Azerbaijani government.
Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif reaffirmed that Pakistan’s people and armed forces are fully prepared to protect the country’s sovereignty and regional integrity. He praised the Pakistan Armed Forces, led by Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir for performing their duties with utmost dedication and commitment. He also paid tribute to security personnel sacrificing their lives in the fight against terrorism.
The meeting was attended by federal ministers, provincial chief secretaries, IGs of police, and other senior officials.
