ANP emphasizes peace, dialogue, and respect for sovereign states during condolence visit to Iranian Consulate
PESHAWAR: A delegation of the Awami National Party (ANP), led by provincial president Mian Iftikhar Hussain, visited the Iranian Consulate in Peshawar on Tuesday to meet Consul General Ali Banfsha Khah. The delegation included senior provincial vice president Said Aqil Shah, general secretary Hussain Shah Yousafzai, spokesperson Arsalan Khan Nazim, joint secretary Hamid Tofan, youth affairs secretary Tariq Afghan Advocate, Salar Shakirullah Shinwari, and Izhar Khalil.
During the meeting, the ANP delegation expressed heartfelt condolences over the martyrdom of Iran’s Supreme Leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei and other individuals who lost their lives. Special prayers were offered for the elevation of their ranks in the hereafter.
Speaking at the occasion, Mian Iftikhar Hussain emphasized ANP’s full solidarity with the Iranian government and people, stating that any attack on a nation’s leadership not only violates sovereignty but also threatens regional peace. He highlighted the party’s commitment to non-violence and stressed the need for dialogue, mutual respect, and adherence to international law to ensure sustainable peace in a conflict-prone region.
The delegation called upon the global community to actively facilitate negotiations and protect human lives amid ongoing regional tensions. At the conclusion of the visit, the Iranian Consul General thanked the ANP leadership for their expression of support.
