Investigators are examining digital evidence after a threatening audio message allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang was routed through privacy tools designed to conceal the sender’s identity.
Aamir Khan Threat Probe Focuses on Sweden VPN and Tor Browser as Cyber Investigation Expands
The investigation into an alleged threat against Bollywood actor Aamir Khan has entered a new phase after cyber investigators reportedly traced the initial internet protocol (IP) address linked to a threatening audio message to a Sweden-based Virtual Private Network (VPN). Authorities believe the sender may have used both a VPN and the Tor browser to conceal their actual location, making the digital trail significantly harder to follow.
According to police sources, forensic experts are analyzing available digital evidence to identify the person responsible for sending the audio message. Officials suspect the use of advanced privacy tools was intended to obscure the sender’s identity and complicate the investigation.
The audio recording is allegedly linked to the Lawrence Bishnoi gang. In the clip, an individual claiming to be Arzu Bishnoi allegedly accuses Aamir Khan of promoting “love jihad” and claims such actions are against Indian culture and Sanatan Dharma. The speaker also allegedly threatens that the actor will be “taught a lesson.” Police have not confirmed the authenticity of the recording and continue to examine it as part of the investigation.
Despite the seriousness of the alleged threat, no First Information Report (FIR) has been registered so far. Officials are currently prioritizing the identification of the sender before deciding on further legal action. Cybercrime experts continue to analyze the message’s digital footprint.
The investigation began after a Facebook post and a voice note surfaced online. Authorities later expanded the probe to include both the social media activity and the audio recording to determine who created and circulated the content.
The alleged threat first surfaced on July 18 through a message reportedly issued in the names of Arzu Bishnoi and Tyson Bishnoi. The post reportedly accused Aamir Khan of promoting “love jihad,” allegedly referring to his recent marriage, and warned of consequences. Investigators are treating these claims as allegations while working to establish the identity of those behind the messages.
