LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) founder Imran Khan’s sister, Aleema Khan, has been detained in Lahore under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order (3-MPO) Ordinance, according to police sources.
Police sources said Aleema Khan was taken into custody by Lytton Road police after she left her residence in Upper Mall to go to a gym. Her vehicle was later taken to Lytton Road Police Station.
According to the sources, Aleema Khan was subsequently shifted to Kot Lakhpat Jail.
The detention followed a request by police to the Lahore deputy commissioner seeking action against Aleema Khan under Section 3 of the Maintenance of Public Order Ordinance. The deputy commissioner subsequently issued an order authorising her detention under the provision.
