Attaullah Tarar Calls for Action Against X Account Over Alleged BLA Promotion

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar urged X to take action against an account he alleged was repeatedly posting promotional videos linked to the BLA.

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Information and Broadcasting Attaullah Tarar has urged social media platform X to take action against an account he alleged was repeatedly posting promotional videos of the Balochistan Liberation Army (BLA).

In a post on X, Tarar said the U.S. Department of State had designated the BLA and its offshoots as terrorist organizations.

Tarar also tagged X and its support and safety accounts while raising concerns over what he described as continued promotion of the organization through the platform.

“The following account on X is constantly posting promotional videos of this terrorist organisation,” Tarar said, adding that such activity was “in clear violation of law and rules.”

The minister called for the account to be taken down and for strict action to be initiated against it.

Tarar’s post included links to three posts from an X account identified as @Waqarkhan, which he cited in support of his complaint.

The BLA is a separatist militant organization that operates in Balochistan. The U.S. government has designated the group as a Foreign Terrorist Organization.

Tarar’s remarks come amid continued government efforts to highlight militant activity and what Pakistani officials describe as terrorist propaganda and support networks online.
