Attaullah Tarar Says Tax Reforms Aim to Expand Tax Net, Strengthen Economy

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Attaullah Tarar says the government will expand awareness of the fixed tax system for small shopkeepers as part of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s reform agenda.

Information Minister Attaullah Tarar said the government is continuing work on Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s reform vision, with a focus on ease of doing business and transparency in the tax system.

In a post on X, Tarar said he convened an important review meeting on the prime minister’s reform vision, which was attended by Minister of State for Finance and Railways Bilal Azhar Kiani. He said the meeting also included useful discussions on the communication and messaging surrounding the reform agenda.

According to Tarar, the objective of Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif’s reform vision is to facilitate businesses and bring greater transparency to the tax system.

He said a simple and dignified fixed tax system has been introduced for small shopkeepers under the reform initiative. The government, he added, will now take the message about the system to markets and streets across the country.

Tarar said the reform process would continue, with the government aiming to broaden the tax base and strengthen the national economy.

“The tax net will expand, the economy will strengthen, and Pakistan will move forward,” Tarar said in his post.
