Court Maintains Non-Bailable Arrest Warrant Against Accused Nawaz Sharif for Attack on Journalists

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Islamabad: The Islamabad Subordinate Judiciary’s Civil Judge Shaista Kundi has reprimanded police for failing to submit the challan in the case of an attack on journalists within the jurisdiction of Aabpara Police Station. The court maintained the non-bailable arrest warrant against the accused, Nawaz Sharif, also known as Fake Hakim, due to his repeated failure to appear in court.

During the hearing, the affected journalists appeared with their lawyer, Advocate Haseeb Jilani. When the complainant’s lawyer inquired about the challan, the judge asked the police for its status. However, the police failed to present it, prompting the court to direct them to submit the challan immediately.

Despite assurances from his lawyers, Nawaz Sharif did not appear in court. The judge expressed frustration, noting that previous hearings were also missed, and warned that if he fails to appear at the next hearing, proceedings to declare him a proclaimed offender may begin.

The court ordered the police to ensure the accused’s presence at the next hearing and requested submission of the challan without fail. The case has been adjourned until March 10, with instructions for strict compliance by law enforcement.
