Faysal Quraishi Speaks Out Against Mindset That Rejects Married Daughters Facing Abuse

Lorem Ipsum is simply dummy text of the printing and typesetting industry. Lorem Ipsum has been the industry’s standard dummy text ever since the 1500s, when an unknown printer took a galley of type and scrambled it to make a type specimen book. It has survived not only five centuries, but also the leap into electronic typesetting, remaining essentially unchanged.

It was popularised in the 1960s with the release of Letraset sheets containing Lorem Ipsum passages, and more recently with desktop publishing software like Aldus PageMaker including versions of Lorem Ipsum.

Faysal Quraishi addresses his stance on married daughters facing domestic abuse during Gup Shab appearance to promote his upcoming Punjabi film Mango Jutt.

Pakistani actor and television host Faysal Quraishi has spoken out against the mindset that prevents parents from taking back married daughters who face domestic abuse, stressing that a daughter’s marriage should never mean she loses her family’s support.

The actor shared his views during a recent appearance on the television show Gup Shab, where he appeared to promote his upcoming Punjabi film Mango Jutt. During the conversation, Quraishi responded to Vasay Chaudhary about his earlier statement concerning married daughters.

Quraishi strongly opposed the belief that a married daughter should return to her parents’ home only after her death, particularly when she is experiencing injustice or physical abuse.

“I am completely against the mindset where people say, ‘Once you marry off your daughter, she should only return in a coffin,’” he said.

He questioned why parents would turn their backs on daughters they had raised with love and care simply because they had married. He also criticized the attitude of families who refuse to bring their daughters home even when they know they are being mistreated.

“Even when parents know their daughter is facing injustice or being beaten, they still say, ‘We will only accept your dead body.’ Why let that happen to her? Isn’t she your daughter? Take her back!” Quraishi said.

His remarks highlighted the importance of parental support for women facing abuse within marriage. He argued that marriage should not become a reason for families to abandon their daughters when they need help and protection.

During the discussion, Quraishi also mentioned a television drama featuring Mawra Hocane that he appreciated for portraying a character who stood by a woman facing difficult circumstances. He referred to Shamil Khan’s character and initially associated the drama with the wrong actor before clarifying that it was Mohib Mirza’s drama.

Quraishi is known for his performances in several popular Pakistani television dramas, including Meri Zaat Zarra-e-Benishan, Main Abdul Qadir Hoon, Bashar Momin, Muqaddar, Khaie, Haiwaan, Farq, Hook, Behroopia, Bheegi Palkain and Fitoor.

He recently received praise for his portrayal of Kamran in the drama Case No. 9. Alongside acting, he regularly hosts Ramzan transmissions and has also attracted public attention for his significant weight loss.
